I’m the Iceland horse, and I’m the newest member of the Ostheimer horse family. Yes, I’m a bit smaller than the others and sometimes mistaken for a pony, but strong and freedom-loving as we Icelanders are, I love to gallop across the pasture with my flowing mane.
Have you noticed the special mark on my forehead? I’m very proud of it, and of my name too: You can pronounce it “Roo-kür.” In Icelandic, it means “tower.”
There’s also a beautiful picture book about me, “HrĂłkur and the Sky Riders.” In it, you’ll learn about me and my longing for my homeland.Â
All Ostheimer toys are handcrafted in Germany on a very high quality level. The soft edged form and the soft colours are typical. In the interaction with the reduced toy form, children learn to enliven the wooden figures and to use their one fantasy. The beautiful hand carved creations are formed from sustainable hardwoods, such as maple and ash and painted with non-toxic water-based colours.
